Cuvee du Vatican Sixtine is an outstanding Chateauneuf du Pape wine that sells for fair price for it’s quality. Cuvee du Vatican Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is made from a blend of 50% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc, 20% Bourboulenc and 10% Roussanne. The wine is aged in 33% new, French oak barrels and 67% in vat for 9 months.

The record-breaking streak of heat and drought from 2003 through 2005 marked a turning point in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in many ways heralding the arrival of a hotter era caused by climate change. Early on, the power and richness of wines from all three vintages were widely celebrated. Nearly twenty years later, however, not all Domaine du Pegau produces 4 red Chateauneuf du Pape wines and 2 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc wines. Domaine du Pegau Reserve is produced from 85% Grenache, 9% Syrah, and 4% Mourvedre, Counoise, and other varieties. Previous vintages had a bit more Syrah in the blend.
