All Audi's I have owned for 35 years have had either crush washer or a flat washer. S8 part listing is: N 0138157 o-ring 14X20 Sometimes they do hang up on the pan or fall into the oil bucket from experience so check both. On my W12, they have discontinued the washer alone and sell it w/ the drain plug--no longer separates easily.

thats how its done, its got a fill pipe inside the drain that you take out.. when you put it back in it forces max fluid level like the drain valve in your toilet.. you fill it up as much as it'll take, get it to operating temp, then open the drain tube and everything that comes out is excess overfill.. close it back off, done.
